We are a member-managed small business proudly serving our community since January 2011.

Founders Laura D. Mood and Michael P. Mood, CPA, CGMA, first met while studying at Goldey-Beacom College, where they balanced academics with athletics. Laura earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting–Information Systems, while Michael received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Together, they share not only a passion for numbers but also a busy family life with their two wonderful children, who keep them on their toes with laughter and energy.

Laura D. Mood

Laura began her professional journey at Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP, one of Delaware’s leading law firms. She later transitioned into public accounting with Barbacane, Thornton & Company LLP, where she specialized in audits of nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies, and schools in Delaware and Pennsylvania. After gaining valuable experience in public accounting, Laura joined United Way of Delaware as Director of Finance. This rewarding role deepened her passion for supporting nonprofits and small businesses, a mission she has continued to pursue since co-founding the firm in 2011.

Today, Laura continues to work closely with nonprofit organizations in the Wilmington area, helping them strengthen their financial operations and meet their missions with confidence.

Michael P. Mood, CPA

Michael launched his career at Lehman Brothers, serving for six years as a senior accountant in the mortgage capital division. His time there sharpened his skills in financial reporting, internal controls, and variance analysis. He then joined Barbacane, Thornton & Company LLP as an audit supervisor, where he worked on a wide range of financial statements and compliance audits.

Michael further expanded his expertise during a nine-year tenure at BBD, LLP as an Audit Principal, focusing on governmental audits and financial oversight for public entities. His broad experience brings valuable insight to organizations striving for fiscal responsibility and accountability.
